Last year 2021, Central Govt approved 30 days emoluments as productivity bonus for the Central Government employees. This year also Central Govt employees are expecting the same bonus order from the Central Government. The bonus order is expected to be announced before Diwali 2023 or Durga Puja. Bonus Calculator for Central Government Employees
(Monthly Emoluments x 30) / 30.4
To illustrate, taking the calculation ceiling of monthly emoluments of Rs.7000 (where actual average emoluments exceed Rs.7000), Non-PLB (Ad-hoc Bonus) for thirty days would work out to Rs.7000 × 30 / 30.4 = Rs.6907.89 (rounded off to Rs.6908/-).
Bonus (Ad-hoc bonus) Calculation for CG Employees
The quantum of Non-PLB (ad-hoc bonus) will be worked out on the basis of average emoluments/calculation ceiling whichever is lower.
To calculate Non-PLB (Ad-hoc bonus) for one day, the average emoluments in a year will be divided by 30.4(average number of days in a month). Thereafter, this will be multiplied by the number of days of bonus granted.
The casual labour who have worked in offices following a 6 days week for at least 240 days for each year for 3 years or more (206 days in each year for 3 years or more in the case of offices observing 5 day week), will be eligible for this Non-PLB (Ad-hoc Bonus) Payment. The amount of Non-PLB (ad-hoc bonus) payable will be (Rs.1200×30/30.4 i.e.Rs.1184.21 (rounded off to Rs.1184/-). In cases where the actual emoluments fall below Rs.1200/- p.m., the amount will be calculated on actual monthly emoluments.
How to Calculate One Day salary for Central Government Employees
In India, an important salary element of Dearness allowance is providing only for Central and State Government employees (including Railways, Armed Forces Personnel, and Bank Staff). According to the Government sectors, the formula is used to calculate one day salary for the employees and officers as given below:
One Day Salary = (Basic Salary + Dearness Allowance) / 30
For example, an employee’s basic salary Rs.49000 (Dearness Allowance 17%)
One Day Salary = Rs.1,911 [(49000 + 8330) divided by 30)]
Bonus for West Bengal Government Employees
Grant of Ad-hoc Bonus to West Bengal State Government Employees and some other categories of Employees for the year 2021-2022: The State Government employees who are not covered by any of the productivity linked Bonus Scheme and whose revised emoluments did not exceed Rs.37,000 per month as on 31st March 2022 will be entitled to an ad-hoc bonus for the accounting year 2021-2022 at the rate of Rs.4,800 per head. Bonus Eligibility for Government Employees
Productivity Linked Bonus and Ad-hoc bonus both are admissible to all Non-Gazetted employees including Non-Gazetted Group-B officers. There is no basic pay limit. Ad-hoc bonus is provided for newly recruited employees, who have completed six months’ service on 31st March.
