CASUAL/TEMPORARY EMPLOYEES

1497. SHRI OM BIRLA:

Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:

(a) the total number of casual/temporary employees employed by the Government in the Railways in the last three years;
(b) the average wages provided to these temporary employees in the Railways across different zones;
(c) whether the Government has taken any step for the betterment of the casual workers employed in the Railways; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?
