NEET EXAM Dress Code 2018 

NEET Dress Code 2018 – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has emphasized on the NEET 2018 dress code with the release of admit card on April 17, 2018. The dress code for NEET 2018 refers to the appropriate attire which should be worn by male and female candidates while appearing for NEET. The NEET dress code 2018 was mentioned in the information brochure released by CBSE and the hall ticket of the candidates also stresses upon the importance of how to appear for the medical entrance exam.

According to the NEET 2018 dress code, candidates have been asked to wear light clothes which should not have full sleeves so as to not arouse suspicion. Aspirants should also carefully choose the footwear since shoes are prohibited in the examination centre. The conducting body has made it clear that the candidates should refrain from wearing anything which will create obstruction while they are being inspected. There are other guidelines pertaining to the dress code of NEET 2018 which can be checked in this article.

NEET 2018 dress code is followed to avoid irregularities during the exam. It is advisable for candidates who are appearing for NEET UG to read the article carefully and follow the guidelines laid down by CBSE regarding the NEET dress code 2018.

NEET 2018 will be conducted on May 6, 2018, in online mode. The candidates will be required to report at two different slots: ‘A’ and ‘B’. For slot A, aspirants are required to report between 7.30 AM to 8.30 AM whereas, for slot B, the entry time is from 8.30 AM to 9.30 AM. The authorities will not allow candidates to enter the examination hall post 9.30 AM. The exam will start at 10.00 AM and will conclude at 1.00 PM.

NEET Dress Code 2018 – Male Candidates

  • To follow the NEET 2018 dress code correctly, male candidates should make sure that they wear half sleeve shirts/t-shirts as full sleeves are not allowed. The authorities have mentioned that the clothes should be light which means that zips, pockets, big buttons and any elaborate embroidery can be avoided.
  • Kurta pajama is not allowed for male aspirants. Trousers will be the preferred dress code of NEET 2018.
  • Shoes are not allowed therefore male candidates can wear slippers and sandals.

NEET Dress Code 2018 – Female Candidates

  • Female candidates should avoid clothes which have embroidery, flowers, brooches and buttons. The clothes should be light and have half-sleeves.
  • Salwars and trousers are suggested for women candidates according to the NEET 2018 dress code.
  • For footwear, female aspirants should prefer slippers or sandals with low heels. Shoes are not allowed in the examination hall.
  • Female aspirants are advised not to wear jewellery like earrings, ring, pendants, nose ring, necklace or any kind of metallic item while appearing for NEET 2018.

Regulation for candidates opting for Customary Dresses

Customary dress refers to a traditional dress or an attire pertaining to a specific religion. Burqa or head scarves will come under this section. While filling NEET application form 2018, candidates were asked whether they intended to wear the customary dress or any other clothing which is contrary to the NEET dress code 2018. The candidates who have opted for customary dress are required to report to the exam centre at least an hour before 9.30 AM which is the last reporting time for the exam.

NEET 2018 Dress Code – Barred Items

The conducting body has released a list of items which are not allowed inside the examination hall, therefore, it is advisable for candidates not to bring them. The authorities at the examination centre will not be responsible for keeping any belongings of the candidates. Items which could be used for hiding communication devices will not be allowed. Possession of barred items inside the examination hall will be considered as unfair means and the candidature could be cancelled. The list of items NOT allowed in the examination hall can be checked below –

  • Stationary Items – Printed or written textual paper, pieces of paper, Geometry/Pencil Box, Calculator, Plastic Pouch, Pen/Pencil, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen Drives, Eraser, Log Table, Scanner/Electronic Pens, etc.
  • Communication devices – Mobile Phones, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager, Health Band etc.
  • Miscellaneous Items – Wallet, Goggles, Handbags, Belt, Cap, ATM/Credit/Debit Card, Plastic Identity Card, any remote key, etc.
  • Electronic devices – Watch, Wristwatch, camera etc.
  • Metallic Items
  • Eatables

The rules laid down by CBSE regarding the NEET dress code 2018 should be followed mandatorily by the test-takers since it will help them pass the frisking procedure. The authorities will use highly sensitive metal detectors for security purposes. It is advisable for candidates to follow the NEET 2018 dress code carefully to avoid ‘unfair means’ or misconduct charges against them.
